Our Track Record

First we want to say that we live and operate in an area that is listed as number two on the poverty list in the state of Ohio and
things are hard to come by.  Through overwhelming obstacles and in spite of our adversaries, we have been able to do the
following for our homeless, needy veterans and others in our area. {As long as supplies and finances last}

We have been able to help several thousand homeless, needy veterans and others with food, clothing, personal hygiene items,
baby needs, cleaning supplies and etc.  We have helped our veterans with their electric bills, gas to get to the doctor, helped with
furniture, seen to homeless veterans who lived in a vacant bathroom, their van and lived in a tent with their wife and children.  We
work with home health care in providing food & supplies for the shut-ins.  We provide for a few hundred people each year during
Christmas with food baskets, toys and honor our veterans and their families with a nice hot meal and give them food baskets and
toys as well, since we began our work in 04.

We send care packages to our troops in foreign countries.  We work with Job and Family Services in providing jobs for our
community in our thrift store and food pantry.  We have traveled more than 200 miles into KY, to Cincinnati, OH and in other
directions to bring food and items into our area for the needy.  We have spent hours on the phone, in the office doing paper
work, sending fax and letters looking for ways to help our community.  Because of our efforts we are now approved by Feed The
Children that will bring in food, clothing, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, school supplies and etc. for our area in the
near future.  We have visited hospitals, nursing homes and residence of veterans to pray for them and let them know we care and
they are not forgotten.

We should be a lot further along than we are now, but we are not recognized like we should be.  We are a 501c3 organization and
everyone is volunteers, no one is paid for their work.  Please look us over and if you like what you see, let us know.  We look
forward to hearing from you.  God bless and have a God day.  We are, “Living With A Cause.”  Don’t forget, “Sharing Is Caring.”

Welcome:

On behalf of our homeless, needy veterans and others that are in need, we bid you
welcome to our web site.  We are veterans who have joined hands with the people
of our own country to battle against the growing problem of poverty.  It is our
hopes and prayers that there will be other veterans and civilians in other parts of
the country that feel the way we do about helping our own for a change, and have a
desire to start a chapter of V.H.V.O.

For centuries America has gone to foreign countries to help fight their battles of
terror, sickness, poverty and help them rebuild.
John D. Foster      P. Mike Gifford
Commander         Vice Commander
Our Commander, John D. Foster sat down with other veterans and decided it was time to join hands with our own and
fight our war on poverty in America.

Mike Gifford, Founder / Director of Living With A Cause, was voted in as Vice Commander to represent our civilians.
We wanted a civilian who was dedicated, loyal to the cause and had a deep concern for our homeless, needy veterans, as
well as civilians in need.

If after you have looked us over and you have a desire to become a member of our organization and be a part of
something that makes a difference in the lives of those we serve, contact us.  We will be more than glad to talk with you.
